Questions You Might Have
Is ice sculpting hard? I'm not artistic.
It's easier than it looks. Our guided process breaks it into simple steps. Most participants surprise themselves. You don't need artistic talent, just curiosity.
What should I wear?
Comfortable indoor clothes. We provide insulated gloves and aprons. The studio is climate-controlled.
How long does the workshop last?
90 minutes from start to finished sculpture. Long enough to create something real, short enough to fit into your day.
Can I bring my child?
Ages 8 and up are welcome. Under 12 needs a guardian present. It's a great parent-child experience.
When are workshops available?
Biweekly during Fall, Winter, and Spring. Workshops do not run in summer. Don't wait until the season ends.
What happens to my sculpture?
Yes, it will eventually melt — but that's part of the fun. Bring a cooler and take it home if you have freezer space. Surprise your guests at your next get-together. Nothing starts a conversation like an ice sculpture you carved yourself.
Built by a World Champion
Suguru Kanbayashi
World Ice Art Champion 2009 · 30+ Years · 50+ International Competitions
For three decades, Suguru has sculpted ice across the globe — from Fairbanks, Alaska to Harbin, China. He led Winterlude's ice carving events for 10 years and served on the executive team of the Canadian Ice Carvers' Society.
In 2009, Suguru and Junichi Nakamura took first place at the World Ice Art Championships with a 2.5-meter kingfisher sculpture carved from a single block.
He created Anyone Can Sculpt Ice to make ice sculpting accessible to everyone. Every workshop is led by instructors he personally trains, using the techniques he developed over a lifetime of competitive and professional carving.
